  Registering  
   
You can browse the auctions at any time without registering,  but to bid or post an auction, you must  first register.
 
   
To register, simply click on the Register link.  Choose a user name which you can easily remember, and fill in the other required fields.  Your password will automatically be generated and emailed to you.  You can change your password at any time by choosing the Member Services option and then clicking the Change Your Password link.
 
   
You only need to register once,  as you can change your user information at any time by choosing Member Services, and then clicking the Edit My Registration link.
 
   
Notes
: There may only be one account per email address.  The system will not let you create more than one account with the same email address.
 
   
We reserve the right to verify your account before it is activated. If verification is required, you will not be allowed to bid on projects until your account is activated.
 
 
  Creating your Profile  

Edit/create a professional profile in the Membership area.

Your will be automatically be linked to a) your bids, to messages you post to b) the Forum and c) to the Marketplace.

The Marketplace is a great tool to alert potential customers to your services and availability, even if you are not bidding at this time.
 

  Bidding

Once you have an active account,  you are ready to bid.  Simply navigate to the auction you want to bid on via the category listings or using the search features,  and then place your bid.

Note that you are bidding on a "RFQ" (Request for Quotations) auction. You should enter any special conditions, terms or scheduling information into the bid comments. Here are our suggestions:

Executive Summary: Why should the client chose you? Highlight the skills and experience required for the project; provide samples, e.g. the URL to sites your have designed

  • What is your level of experience in years?
  • How many projects have you completed to date?
  • Technical skills, e.g. operating systems, languages, etc.

  • List any certifications
  • Education & training completed
  • References of past employers
  • Availability, starting when ?
  • In which country is your locale or home office ?
  • What precautions will you take to ensure confidentiality ?
  • Do you follow a quality processes, e.g. Rational Unified Process (RUP) ?
  • Do you have a development methodology of choice, e.g. eXtreme programming (XP) ?

You can also include any information that will help the auctioneer to decide to pick your bid over any competing bids.
 

 
  3. It is highly recommended that you carefully read any project terms and conditions before you place your bid.  Please note that by bidding, you legally bind yourself to rendering the service if you are the winning bidder.
 
 
  Completing the Transaction  
   
Once an auction closes an email will be sent to the winning bidder containing contact information for the buyer.  If you are the winning bidder you should immediately contact the buyer to arrange for payment and prepare for delivery of your services.  The buyer may also contact you via the contact information you provided upon registration.
 
 
  Leaving Feedback  
   
You should always leave feedback on the buyer after completing a transaction.  This lets other users know what to expect from the buyer, whether that be good or bad. You can reach the feedback form by clicking on the Leave Feedback on Buyer link on the item detail page.  Please restrain from using foul or obscene language, as other users may be offended.  Inappropriate feedback will be deleted.
