♫  Terms for Private Piano Lessons

1. Lessons cancelled by the student within 24 hours notice will not be refundable. Lessons cancelled by the teacher shall be given at a later date suitable to both student and teacher.
2. Tuition shall be paid one month in advance. Tuition shall be paid on or before the first lesson scheduled or the first lesson will not take place.
3. All books bought by the teacher for the student must be paid for by the student. (A good source for music scores is: The Music Source, 1345 East Putnam Ave, Old Greenwich, CT 06870, Tel: 203 698 0444.
4. Charges for weekly one-on-one lessons are:

   • The introductory lesson is complimentary.

   • 1 hour     $ 70.00 (8 plus year olds)

   • ¾ hour:   $ 52.50 (7 year olds)

   • ½ hour:   $ 35.00  (5 and 6 year olds)

   • Lessons are offered at our studio: 14 Surrey Drive, Riverside, CT 06878. If, under extenuating circumstances, travel within a 10 mile radius is required, a $10 (flat fee) will be levied on top of above lesson charges.

   • If a payment is more than one week late, you also agree to pay a late charge of $15.

5. Student’s participation in concerts, recitals, competitions and other events is strongly encouraged, but not required. There is $27 off-premises performance fee for each student. Other third-party fees may apply.
6. Parents/Guardians are strongly encouraged to participate in their child’s learning process. It is imperative that a daily practice routine be maintained to prevent an interruption of the learning-curve momentum. Learning the piano should be fun and not a frustrating exercise.
7. We teach during summer vacations (Mid June to last week of August) because continuous study offers the most benefit to your child. The summer months offer more time for practice without the demands of homework and other school activities. Therefore, we strongly recommend you to continue lessons during the summer. 8. You will be given advance notice by email or note to your child and also on this website of any changes in these terms.
9. Any changes and amendments of these terms will be published at www.pianocapriccioso.com. If you do not agree with those changes, you may terminate this agreement.
10. Parents are encouraged to be present on our premises at all times. No liability, whatsoever, shall be assumed for harm to students and their guardians/parents due to the unlikely event of an accident, unless such accident occurred due to gross negligence on our part. Other than that, no liability, whatsoever, shall be assumed for children other than our students.
