EXPERIENCE Jul’04 – Till now Quality Assurance Engineer (EM Specialist), Flomerics India Pvt Ltd, Bangalore (17 Months) Nature of work • Defining a testing strategy for each of the electro-magnetic software products in order to identify the types of testing required. • Planning and creating the testing material for each product for each stage of development. • Investigating and reporting defects, in such a way that they can be understood and reproduced efficiently by developers. • Undertaking testing of electro-magnetic products, and ensuring that testing is completed thoroughly, accurately and according to schedule. • Working with developers and product managers to address defects, and proposing improvements to the software products. • Verifying that the defects are properly fixed before the product is signed-off for release. • Verifying that the physics used in the software products is accurate, and the software produces results that are realistic and within a reasonable degree of accuracy when compared with actual test results. Sep, 01 – Oct, 03 EMI Engineer, VXLeTech Pvt Ltd,Bangalore (25 Months) Nature of work • The work involves giving solutions, debugging and testing of Information Technology related products (Servers, Thin clients, Power supply, Monitors) and Medical related products (Ultra Sound Scanners etc) for the Electro-Magnetic Compatibility. • The work also involves Schematics Review, PCB Review and preparing critical component list at design stage of the product. • Preparing the test plans for the product as part of the certification process. • Handling the certification process of the product and keeping track with Certifying agencies. • Carrying out Radiated, Conducted and Electro Static Discharge tests on various internal products and for external customers. Jan, 00 – Feb, 01 Worked as a faculty in Microtech Computers, Mysore (14 Months) PROJECTS (a) Project Name: Ultrasound Medical Scanner – Model: Sonalisa-32 Duration : 2 month Description : The L&T Make Ultra Sound Medical Scanner was failing in Radiated Emission Test, Electro-static discharge Test and Electrical Fast transient tests. The product is debugged and all the above tests are cleared for CISPR-11 Class-A limits for medical devices. Role : Team Member (Debugging) Team size : 2 (b) Project Name: Ultrasound Medical Scanner –Model: Supreme Duration : 1 month Description : The L&T Make Ultra Sound Medical Scanner was failing in Electro Static Discharge Test on applying the +0.5KV of charge on back panel of the VGA Monitor. The product is debugged and brought to the passing state according to customer’s requirement. Role : Team Member (Debugging and Testing) Team size : 2 (c) Project Name: Schiller Spandan ECG Scanner Duration : 2 Months Description : The product was failing in both Conducted Emission and Radiated Emission Tests. The product is debugged and redesigned for the above tests. The final product is passing for CISPR 11 Class A limits according to customer’s requirement. Role : Team Member (Debugging and Testing) Team size : 3 (d) Project Name: Dot matrix printer LQ240 Duration : 1 Month Description : The wipro e peripherals make dot matrix printer “LQ240” was failing CISPR 22 Class A limits by 10dB?v. The product as a project debugged and redesigned. The final product is passing for CISPR 22 Class B limits by 4 dB?v margin. Role : Team Member (Debugging and Testing) Team size : 3 (e) Project Title : Software to isolate the net list connectivity of PCB's Duration : 2 Months Description : As part of the Engineering curriculum, a project has been done in final year B.E at Bharat Electronics Limited, D&E (Software & ATE) department, Bangalore. The object of the project is to develop software that will totally isolate the net list connectivity of a given Board Description (BD) file of any PCB and eases to find the track discontinuity in PCB.The software will totally isolate the net connections of the given board description file of any Printed Circuit Board (PCB). This net connection is then further processed and then fed to the Automatic Test Equipment (ATE), which is capable of displaying the location of malfunctioning. Thus on the above obtained information, the fault in the Printed Circuit Board can be overcome with ease. This software works along with the Automatic Test Equipment (which is one of the eight ATE's in India) and overcomes the faulty tracks by taking appropriate steps.
