Abstract :The DA application is categorized into two parts, 1) Bootstrap DA (BDA) 2) Enhanced DA (EDA).
Bootstrap DA: The application will be burnt as part of the J2ME implementation on the handsets. This application is the first application that will run on the handset. It facilitates downloading the Enhanced Discovery Application. The Discovery application forms the core of the offering enabling the user to download java applications as well as other files (audio, video, images & ring tones) to the phone. Since this MIDlet is a special MIDlet that is specific to reliance it is also categorized as a System MIDlet. There will be a hot key that launches Java on the handset. Launching Java on the handset will translate to launching the Bootstrap DA. (Only the first time, other times it will launch DA). The Bootstrap DA can also be launched from the device menu. Enhanced DA: This application is very important and forms the core of the user interface design and implementation of the application is critical since this is the face for java on the handset for all users using the reliance services. It is also the transport application that enables you to download an assortment of applications, over the air and right to your phone.
