Ø There were three pumps that pumped water into the D.F.M Tank.Out of the three only two were used and third one was used as standby. Ø The program was written in such a manner so as to keep atleast two of the motors running at any given time and if any of one of the two pumps tripped the third motor had to automatically turned on Ø These pumps are part of the ash plant at the station.The ash generated in the main boiler is automatically pumped from the main unit in to the ash plant.The ash pumped in to the ash plant is automatically transported by means of a transport system to the neighboring cement factories Ø The program was written in Step Language (Provided by the manufacturer, SIEMENS) and the appropriate Ladder Diagrams drawn.
