As an entrepreneur, one of my major achievements was the
formation and management of the international management
consultancy Global Business Services with offices in Frankfurt,
Hong Kong, London, Singapore, and Washington, D.C.
Services of GBS included the formulation of market development
plans: market entry studies, business plans and, importantly,
the implementation of same for a wide variety of industries.
Thus, we committed ourselves to prove the feasibility of
our suggested business solutions. International distribution
channels were specifically designed and implemented to benefit
from international tax and customs regulations, and often
instrumentalized existing distribution monopolies. Substantial
input regarding our strategic direction was rendered by
McKinsey & Co. for over two years. In summary, GBS significantly
enhanced my expertise in principal business disciplines
and led to in-depth knowledge in a number of industries,
including consumer electronics, international trade in semiconductors,
textiles, as well as international financial instruments.
